About Teresa E Roane
Dr. Roane joined the faculty at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in March 2010 as a Clinical Assistant Professor. She began her career in pharmacy in 1988 working as a pharmacy technician; becoming certified in 2000. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2006. Prior to joining the University of Florida, she worked as a clinical pharmacist at AvMed Health Plans in Gainesville, FL. While at AvMed, she helped develop and lead their medication therapy management program, provided direct oversight of the utilization management program, served as resource for internal and external healthcare professionals as well as a preceptor for UF PharmD students on their APPE rotations. Dr. Roane is currently the Associate Director of the College of Pharmacy’s Center for Quality Medication Management (CQM). The center provides telephonic medication related services to patients on behalf of national healthplans. The center employs UF faculty, student interns, technicians, and pharmacists as well as additional administrative staff. The center also services as an APPE site for UF students and has locations on UF campuses in both Gainesville and Lake Nona. Dr. Roane mentors students and residents located at the center. She also teaches courses within the curriculum that focuses on topics such as MTM, managed care, effective communications, business concepts, and vaccinations/immunizations. She earned her Board Certification as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) in 2011, and her Master of Business Administration in HealthCare Management degree in 2018. She serves as the Diplomat for the UF Student Chapter of AMCP and is a member of the AMCP Educational Affairs committee.
