The University of Florida College of Pharmacy celebrates Pride Month every June in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. The activities and events scheduled showcase the pride we all share in standing in solidarity and support of our brothers and sisters in the LGBTQ+ community.
Schedule of Events
Movie night screening of the Oscar-awarded film “Moonlight” starring Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris, and Janelle Monáe. Live chat via Zoom and discussion afterwards. The movie will be streamed from the UF video collections for educational purposes.
Garrett Smith, Pharm.D., a UF College of Pharmacy graduate, will discuss his community involvement by opening an independent pharmacy, EquityRx, in a rural community. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, he cares about access to health care for underserved populations and addressing health disparities.
Pride Month Video
Happy Pride Month to the College of Pharmacy community. As we celebrate the diversity and inclusion of all members of our community, we are inviting you to share your Pride inspirations and moments (either as a member of the LGBTQ+ community or as an ally) on a virtual wall. At the end of the month, all contributions will be compiled into a poster that will be displayed on all three campuses during the fall term. Show your support, share some love, and see yourself represented with a picture!
