About Xuan (vick) Zhang
Dr. Zhang was appointed a research assistant professor in the department of medicinal chemistry at University of Florida College of Pharmacy in July 2019. Dr. Zhang earned his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Shanghai Normal University. He then received medicinal chemistry training from Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica at Chinese Academy of Sciences as a research fellow. In 2009, he attended East China Normal University (ECNU) to pursue graduate studies and completed his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Wei Lu. While at ECNU, he published eleven peer-reviewed publications and received the top scholarship for graduate students. Before he joined UF, he was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences under the guidance of Prof. Guangrong Zheng. His research involves drug discovery and development, stereoselective synthesis of drugs and natural products, molecular imaging probe design and novel drug delivery technologies.
