About Zhiqiu Ye
Zhiqiu (Sophie) Ye, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy (POP). Her research focuses on promoting equity in healthy aging for optimized medication management. Prior to joining POP, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Delivery System Science at the University of Chicago Medicine and as a Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness fellow in Health Economics at the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
She received her Bachelor of Medicine in nursing science from Shandong University, China and her Ph.D. in Health Services Research and Policy from the University of Rochester.
Research Profile
Dr. Ye’s research examines the organization, delivery, and regulation of pharmaceutical services during care transitioning as well as long-term services and supports related to medication use, via a stakeholder-partnered computational social science approach.
Dr. Ye has three research areas: (1) fairness research in quality measurement related to medication use, focusing on the role of interorganizational relationships; (2) equitability research in policy implementation, focusing on the methodological influence of social determinants of health; (3) theory-informed policy analysis for cardiovascular diseases and stroke care delivery, focusing on the effectiveness and implementation of public health laws.
Dr. Ye has received a pilot grant from the Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence at the University of Chicago Medicine. More recently, her research is awarded the 2023 Janet D. Rowley Research Day Best Poster award for Health Services Research at the Department of Medicine at University of Chicago.
