Christopher Pantouris, Pharm.D., CGP

Chris Pantouris, PharmD, CGP, is a clinical pharmacist currently employed at the Broward Outpatient clinic in Sunrise, FL. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2001, and then a completed pharmacy practice residency at the Salisbury, NC VA medical center in 2002. After completing his education and training, he was hired as the clinical specialist in geriatrics/primary care at the Winston Salem outpatient clinic where he helped setup clinics in anticoagulation, smoking cessation and diabetes/lipids/hypertension. In 2008, he obtained certification as a Geriatric Pharmacist (CGP) with the Commission for Certification of Geriatric Pharmacists in addition to certification as a Certified Anticoagulation Provider (CACP) from the National Certification Board of Anticoagulation Providers. In 2009, he was nominated for the national “Excellence in Pharmacy Practice Award” from Salisbury VA. Before joining the Miami VA healthcare system in 2013, he was with the Bay Pines VA healthcare system from 2009-2013, where he served as the Clinical Program Manager for the long term care facility located in Port Charlotte, FL. In 2013, he was selected to be the new outpatient supervisor for the Broward Outpatient clinic, where he helped setup several new services, including a geriatric/polypharmacy e-consult service. Currently, he focuses on several clinical activities at the Broward outpatient clinic and is still actively involved in education and student development. His main interests are geriatrics/polypharmacy issues, education and preceptor/student development. He holds active licenses both as pharmacist and consultant pharmacist in state of Florida.
