About Jinmai Jiang

Dr. Jiang joined the Department of Pharmaceutics at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy as a Research Assistant Professor in July 2015. His current research focuses on (1) Discovery of miRNA as extracellular biomarkers for PDAC diagnosis and prognosis; (2) Discovery of miRNA as biomarker and mediator in pain; (3) The interaction of host cell and microbe via fecal miRNA; (4) The profile and function of small RNA in pancreatic ADM process; (5) Exploring the extracellular small RNA atlas with NGS method. He has published 30 peer-reviewed papers and 3 book chapters (in press).

Research Profile

RESEARCH INTEREST

• Exploration of circulating microRNAs as potential biomarkers for human diseases. • Small RNA profiling in biofluids using qPCR or NGS applications. • Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) as a therapeutic delivery system to human disease. • The role of miRNAs in cancer development, diagnosis and therapy. • The interaction of bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) and the host. • Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis and application.
