About Alex Ebied
Alex Ebied, Pharm.D., BCCCP, joined the UF College of Pharmacy as a clinical assistant professor in the department of pharmacotherapy and translational research in June 2017. He maintains a clinical practice site in Internal Medicine at UF Health Shands Hospital. He received his Pharm.D. degree from Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York in 2013. He then completed a pharmacy practice residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to joining the college, he worked as a critical care pharmacist at UF Health Shands Hospital for three years. One of his career passions is to mitigate the ongoing opioid crisis in which he has two publications focused on non-opioid options for pain management. His research interests include infectious diseases, pain management, and optimal medication dosing in special populations. In 2018 he established the inaugural University of Florida Internal Medicine Pharmacy Fellowship program which is focused towards a career in clinical practice settings or academia.
