Erin B Bruce, Ph.D.

As a clinical assistant professor, Erin Bruce is focused on teaching future scientists and health professionals the fundamentals of physiology and pharmacology. While her expertise lies in the cardiovascular system, she loves to learn and teach every aspect of physiology. The human body is fascinating, and she hopes that her students feel the same by the end of her courses. Dr. Bruce is dedicated to creating inclusive and equitable classrooms, whether in person or online. Nurturing various perspectives allows us all to create new knowledge in a space empathetic to one another’s lived experiences.

She is interested in educational research, especially as it relates to teaching physiology and pharmacology. She is invested in using the latest pedagogical studies to influence her course organization and education style. In turn, she is working to inform her community of what techniques have benefited her classes, as well as identifying areas where she and her peers can improve. The more we share with each other, the better we all become.

I am interested in educational research, especially as it relates to teaching physiology and pharmacology. I am invested in using the latest pedagogical studies to ensure a positive educational experience for all of my students.

In addition to my education research, I work with the UF Genetics Institute measuring the cardiovascular phenotype of rodent animal models. I am an expert in echocardiography, non-invasive tail-cuff blood pressure measurement, and invasive cardiac catheterization PV-loop measurements. Please contact me if you would like more information.
