Tom Burris, chair of the UF College of Pharmacy department of pharmacodynamics, received the inaugural UF Innovate Innovation Fund Award for his work developing exercise mimetics.
Burris was honored for his development of an exercise mimetic derived from a natural product source.
Known as the Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award, the grant will fund several of Huigens’ research projects, including efforts to develop compounds that will eliminate bacterial biofilm-associated infections.
