Biographical Sketch

Dr. Roane joined the faculty at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in March 2010 as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Communication and Care Center. She began her career in pharmacy in 1988 working as a pharmacy technician, becoming a certified pharmacy technician in 2000. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2006. Prior to joining the University of Florida, she worked as a clinical pharmacist at AvMed Health Plans in Gainesville, FL. While at AvMed, she helped develop and lead their MTM program, provided direct oversight of the utilization management program, and served as resource for internal and external healthcare professionals as well as a preceptor for 3rd and 4th year UF PharmD clerkship students.  Since joining the faculty at UF, she oversees various projects and contracts at the MTM center, mentors students and residents located at the MTM center, and teaches courses in MTM, Communications, and Vaccinations/Immunizations within the curriculum. She also serves as Diplomat for the UF Student Chapter of AMCP.  She earned her Board Certification as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) in 2011, and is currently working towards her Master of Business Administration-HealthCare Management degree which she will complete in 2016.
