This 12-month ASHP-Accredited PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Residency is offered by the UF College of Pharmacy with practice sites in internal and family medicine clinic settings. This specialized residency will engage residents to develop expertise in ambulatory disease state management, including transitions of care and academia. An additional focus of the program is pharmacy billing, physician-pharmacist collaboration, and innovative practice models in order to prepare the resident to justify, develop, and implement pharmacy services that are revenue generating and self-sustaining. The residency provides a unique teaching certificate program which offers experiences both in small group instruction and didactic lectures in the University of Florida College of Pharmacy curriculum. Rotations will be balanced between blocked and longitudinal and additional rotation opportunities, including medication therapy management, patient safety, pharmacogenomics, and others based on resident interest and preceptor availability. The resident is expected to complete an IRB-approved research project of publishable quality and present results at local, regional or state pharmacy meetings.
