UF researchers discover breakthrough anticancer drug

Researchers from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy have discovered a safer and more effective anticancer drug to target leukemia, lymphoma, and breast and lung cancers. The journal Nature Medicine published the findings this month.

The American Society of Hematology, or ASH, honored four gators from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy — two postdoctoral associates and two graduate students — at its 61st Annual Meeting in Orlando, Dec. 7-10.

Dean Julie Johnson named 2019 ACCP Parker Medalist

Julie Johnson, Pharm.D., has received one of the pharmacy profession’s most prestigious awards — the Paul F. Parker Medal from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Johnson, dean and distinguished professor in the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, was presented the Parker Medal at the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, or ACCP, Annual Meeting in New York City on Oct. 27.
