February 2015

Dear Alumni & Friends,

As you know by now, our University of Florida 12th president, Dr. Kent Fuchs (pronounced fox) began his presidential term on January 1, 2015. President Fuchs comes to UF from Cornell University where he served as the provost for the last six years. President Emeritus Machen has brought UF to an amazing place and we feel confident that President Fuchs will continue this charge and help to raise us to national preeminence.

As you’ll see from this issue of the Pharmily Connection, we have much to celebrate at the College of Pharmacy with our alumni, faculty and student accomplishments!

On March 13, we will be hosting our Dean’s Circle Dinner, which honors our donors who give $500 or more to the college annually. We hope to see you back in Gainesville this spring to spend time with Dean Johnson, faculty and fellow alums at this intimate gathering.

We are looking forward to celebrating the professionalism milestone of our rising 2PDs – along with many of you who supported them – at our upcoming coating ceremony on Saturday, March 14. A very special thank you to all of you who have purchased one or more white coats for our students!

Finally, we are excited for the upcoming APhA annual meeting on March 27-30 and our "Dean's Night In" reception on Saturday, March 28 in San Diego, California. We look forward to seeing you on the West Coast to spend time and have conversation with Dean Johnson, faculty, fellow alums and current students.

Go Gators!
