Lindsey Childs-Kean, Pharm.D., M.P.H., a clinical associate professor of pharmacy education and practice in the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, is the recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Pharmacy Educator Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, or AACP, Pharmacy Practice Section.

Awardees are selected based on their contributions to teaching, research and scholarly activities, professional and public service, outreach efforts and their impact on pharmacy education beyond their home institution. Childs-Kean has been a faculty member at the UF College of Pharmacy for almost 12 years, a time in which she taught over 2,500 pharmacy school graduates and garnered numerous teaching-related awards from the college and national organizations.

The fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists teaches her students to remain curious and communicate effectively in caring for their patients and communities.

“Watching the growth and professional development that these students undergo in four years is the highlight of my job,” Childs-Kean said. “It might be a light bulb moment in the classroom when they finally put together pieces of a complicated topic, or improving their public speaking or leadership skills through student organizations. I am constantly impressed and inspired by UF pharmacy students.”

Childs-Kean will be presented the award during the AACP Pharmacy Practice Section business meeting on June 2.
