Sarvesh Kumar Verma, Ph.D., a postdoctoral associate in the University of Florida College of Pharmacy’s Department of Pharmaceutics, has received a travel award to attend the Behavior, Biology, and Chemistry: Translational Research in Substance Use Disorders Conference. The award comes with a waived registration fee, two nights of hotel lodging and covers $500 in travel expenses to attend the conference March 20-22 in San Antonio.

At the meeting, Verma will attend a Pathways to Careers in Science Workshop and present a poster on his research involving endocannabinoids and their role in brain function and behavior. He looks forward to learning from experts in behavioral pharmacology to strengthen his work on addiction, drug responses and pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling.
Verma is mentored by Abhisheak Sharma, Ph.D., M.Pharm., an assistant professor of pharmaceutics in the UF College of Pharmacy and co-director of the Translational Drug Development Core.
