As the founding director of the University of Florida Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology, Lawrence J. Lesko, Ph.D., provided over 13 years of leadership and dedication to the UF College of Pharmacy. In honor of his legacy, the college established an endowment in his name this summer.
With support from the endowment, outstanding students and postdoctoral fellows will have the opportunity to participate in professional society meetings focused on quantitative clinical pharmacology. It will allow students and trainees to access unique learning opportunities, gain exposure to the latest research and innovations and empower them to diversify their skills and excel in various roles throughout their careers.
The endowment will carry forward Lesko’s vision of fostering professional growth and innovation by enhancing trainees’ skills, broadening their perspectives and encouraging commitment to lifelong learning. It will also provide a travel stipend for the winner(s) of the student and trainee oral/poster session at the center’s annual Lake Nona Leadership Council meeting.
