RxPharmacist®, a startup company founded by 2015 University of Florida College of Pharmacy graduate Maryam Khazraee, Pharm.D., M.B.A., BCPS, finished in the top 5 of the eMerge Americas 2025 Startup Showcase. The company was among 100 startups selected to participate in a robust, multi-week virtual program, which culminated in the grand finale pitch competition March 27-28 at the eMerge Americas global tech conference in Miami. More than 1,300 businesses applied to participate in the competition.

Khazraee founded RxPharmacist® in 2018. The company provides licensure exam preparation in 24 states. They support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in achieving licensure, certification and employment through their social impact programs and will expand offerings to other health professionals soon. With licensure pass rates declining over the past decade, Khazraee said RxPharmacist® is committed to reversing the trend. The team includes Khazraee and nine professionals specializing in product development, medical writing and more.
“We were successful in landing in the top five of the pitch competition because our product fits well into the market as something people need,” Khazraee said. “There is a lack of affordable, high-quality Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) preparation tailored to each state, and our scalable business model is designed to change that.”
RxPharmacist® provides summer and fall internship training programs as well as rotation programs across several schools nationwide. According to Khazraee, all participants receive access to the How to Get a Job series, leading to almost a 90% success rate in entry-level job placement or residency and fellowship matches.
In 2020, Khazraee was featured as a 40 Under 40 Gator honoree for her work as a regulatory health project manager for the Food and Drug Administration and as a founder of RxPharmacist®.
