John Allen, Pharm.D., an associate dean of student success, wellness, and community engagement and a clinical associate professor in the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, has been elected treasurer of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, or ACCP. He will officially begin his three-year term in October 2025 during the ACCP Annual Meeting in Minneapolis.

As treasurer, Allen will oversee the financial management and monetary investments of ACCP. He will also participate in the governance of the organization as a member of both the Board of Regents and the Executive Committee.
Allen joined ACCP 15 years ago and has maintained strong ties to the organization during his career. He has held multiple leadership roles, including serving as the inaugural chair of the Health Equity Practice Research Network, which was organized to increase collaboration among clinical pharmacists working to eliminate health disparities. Additionally, Allen has been involved in several other practice research networks and has contributed to multiple ACCP presidential committees. His outstanding contributions were recognized in 2020 when he was named a fellow of ACCP.
“I am excited about the opportunity to work with ACCP’s leadership and its membership to shape and guide the organization’s future,” Allen said. “Through this leadership role, I can advocate for accessible clinical pharmacy services for all patients.”
Allen joined the UF College of Pharmacy in 2018 and is a board-certified pharmacist in critical care and pharmacotherapy. He is an active member and has held committee appointments in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the ACCP. In addition, he has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and participated in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s Academic Leadership Fellowship Program.
