New rankings released by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research place the UF College of Pharmacy No. 3 nationally in research funding among all pharmacy colleges. In 2023, the National Institutes of Health awarded almost $21.5 million to the UF College of Pharmacy.
It’s the fifth consecutive year the UF College of Pharmacy has ranked in the top 3 of the Blue Ridge Institute research rankings for pharmacy colleges.
“Reaffirming our position in the top 3 national research rankings underscores the exceptional dedication of our faculty and their research teams in acquiring NIH funding,” said Peter W. Swaan, Ph.D., M.Pharm., dean and professor of the UF College of Pharmacy. “The Blue Ridge Institute rankings provide a valuable benchmark for assessing research productivity among pharmacy colleges since the rankings account for funding expenditures received from the NIH.”
The Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research is an independent nonprofit organization. The 2023 rankings were compiled using NIH’s funding data for the federal fiscal year from Oct. 1, 2022, through Sept. 30, 2023.
