Over 125 graduate students and faculty gathered on Sept. 19 at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center to celebrate the University of Florida College of Pharmacy’s 2023 Academic Year Kickoff event. Attendees included several new postdoctoral associates, clinical assistant professors, and graduate students. During a short cocktail reception, attendees socialized over appetizers, enjoyed photo opportunities and participated in a raffle hosted by the Graduate Student Organization.
Immediately following opening remarks from Dean Peter Swaan, Ph.D., M.Pharm., new members were welcomed during a formal dinner. Zuo Ding, Ph.D., an incoming postdoctoral associate in the lab of Associate Professor Mei He, Ph.D., shared her enthusiasm towards the opportunity to connect with her new peers. “It is exciting to be at an event organized to introduce new students to the school,” she explained after each department shared brief introductions for their incoming associates.
