On the eve of graduation, members of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy’s Pharm.D. class of 2022, and their family and friends, gathered at the HPNP Building in Gainesville for the Senior BBQ and Awards Ceremony. The annual celebration was held on May 13 and recognized outstanding pharmacy students in more than 20 award categories, along with seven faculty and preceptor award winners.
The event featured special remarks from Dean Julie Johnson, Pharm.D., along with speeches from two of the three senior class representatives. Blanca Luna from the Jacksonville campus and Emily Bennett from the Orlando campus delivered their senior speeches, while Paige Dorvé-Lewis from the Gainesville campus delivered her remarks the next day at the commencement ceremony.
The gathering marked the first time in three years the college has hosted the annual event in person, as the previous two ceremonies were held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
