Nam Nguyen

Nam Nguyen is a third-year PhD student in the PTR department working under Dr. Lamba and a pharmacist at UF Health Shands. His research interests include using CRISPR-Cas9 to screen acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines and primary leukemic cells to identify the genetic modulators that underpin response and resistance to standard chemotherapies and identify novel pathways for drug resistance.

His long-term goal is to use these findings to develop drugs that circumvent chemoresistance and thus improve the outcomes of AML patients.
