Juan Francisco Morales, Ph.D

Juan Francisco Morales, Ph.D., graduated with a Pharmacist degree from the National University of La Plata (Argentina). Also, he has obtained his PhD degree from the same Institution. His PhD project consisted in the development of computational models to predict the bioavailability of drug candidates for diseases affecting the Central Nervous System.

During this period, he has learned several machine learning modeling techniques and he has obtained a Fulbright scholarship for a short research stay at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is currently a Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in Dr. Sarah Kim’s lab.

He is working on several projects, including a collaboration with the JDRF organization for developing a model-based clinical trial simulation (CTS) tool to inform the design of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) prevention clinical trials.
