Amy Alleyne

Amy Alleyne is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Pharmacodynamics under the mentorship of Dr. Jay P McLaughlin and Dr. Charles J Frazier.

She graduated with her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences and a Chemistry minor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2011. Currently her dissertation work focuses on identifying the role of the sigma-1 receptor in chronic pain and substance use disorder as a potential target for the treatment of both diseases with reduced liabilities.
