Carinda Feild, Pharm.D., a clinical associate professor in the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, has been elected president of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, or SCCM, Florida chapter. She began a one-year term as president-elect in June and will assume her presidential role in June 2022.
As president, Feild will oversee operations and programming for a statewide, multidisciplinary critical care organization with a board of directors and four working committees serving members across eight Florida regions. The chapter provides opportunities for critical care practitioners across Florida to engage in education and collaboration. SCCM Florida’s membership includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, physician assistants and other health care professionals.
“The Society of Critical Care Medicine has been a professional home for me for many years, and I’m excited to lead an organization that brings practitioners from different disciplines together to collaborate and learn from each other,” Feild said. “It’s very rewarding to know our work may improve the care of critically ill and injured patients.”
Feild has been a member of the SCCM Florida chapter for three of its four years and previously chaired the education committee. Additionally, she has served on multiple committees for SCCM’s national organization.
