Joe Lawrence, Pharm.D., a 2011 graduate of the UF College of Pharmacy, and his company, Nationwide Pharmaceutical, was named to the Gator100 for 2021 — a ranking of the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or led by UF alumni. Lawrence’s company ranked No. 5, in the list revealed April 23 at a virtual ceremony.

As CEO of Nationwide Pharmaceutical, or NWP, Lawrence oversees the pharmacy solutions company that specializes in the $20 billion-a-year federal pharmacy market. NWP provides pharmaceuticals, pharmacy benefit management and prescriptions services, online clinical references, consultancy services and staffing. Founded, owned and operated by veteran active duty military pharmacists, NWP brings to the table a complete and in-depth understanding of the federal government’s pharmacy environment.

This is the second consecutive year Lawrence and NWP made the top 5 of the Gator100 rankings. In 2020, they finished No. 3 among UF alumni-led businesses.
