Phi Delta Chi pharmacy fraternity earns several national awards at Grand Council meeting

The Delta Delta Chapter of Phi Delta Chi at the University of Florida received recognition for its many accomplishments at the fraternity’s 71st Annual Grand Council in Arlington, Virginia, in early August. Phi Delta Chi is the newest pharmacy fraternity at the UF College of Pharmacy’s Gainesville campus and has quickly grown to 77 brothers. Though it was Delta Delta’s first national meeting since its inception in April 2016, Phi Delta Chi’s 100th Chapter placed fourth nationally for its Nancy Alvarez Professional and Service Projects Report — highlighting the chapter’s service to its profession, school and community. Delta Delta also received a first place award and scholarship for its chapter display at Grand Council and a second place travel grant scholarship for its video raising awareness about the role of pharmacists in health care. In addition to these scholarships, Delta Delta received its official charter and was recognized for 100 percent achievement in the Dale W. Doerr Achievement Award Program, a testament to the involvement and success of the new chapter. The Delta Delta Chapter hosts events throughout the year supporting scholarship, service, leadership and brotherhood.
