Sporting white coats and a spirit for advocacy, more than 40 University of Florida College of Pharmacy faculty and students converged on the state capitol in Tallahassee for the Florida Pharmacist Legislative Days, March 14 and 15. UF’s delegation joined nearly 100 pharmacists and 400 other pharmacy college students from around the state in letting their voices be heard and advocating for the pharmacy profession. The group met with Governor Rick Scott and other Florida legislators seeking their support for expanding the role of pharmacists and improving health care access for patients. Students from Florida’s pharmacy colleges also hosted a joint health fair in the state capitol to showcase the types of care that pharmacists can provide.
