Natural Product Inspired Drug Discovery
The Huigens lab has multiple drug discovery programs inspired by a diverse array of both simple and complex natural products. These research programs involve highly interdisciplinary teams of chemists and biologists to create a discovery pipeline for lead compounds that we have identified through our chemical synthesis and biological screening efforts. The Huigens lab is primarily involved in chemical synthesis and microbiology and has ongoing collaborations with microbiologists, cancer biologists and experts in pharmaceutics/animal models.
