Student Awards
The following awards are offered to graduating students in the Working Professional Doctor of Pharmacy Program at the University of Florida:
Outstanding Graduating Student Award
This award is given in recognition of exemplary performance in all aspects of the WPPD program. Criteria include, but are not limited to, distinguished scholarship, leadership, professionalism, and service. This is considered the WPPD program’s highest award.
This award is given each semester and consists of a plaque.
Recipient determined by: WPPD Awards committee; WPPD Faculty
Outstanding Academic Performance Award
This award is given in recognition of outstanding academic performance while a student in the WPPD program. It is determined by grade point average, and if necessary, by communication skills and quality of pharmaceutical care project.
This award is given each semester and consists of a plaque.
Recipient determined by: WPPD Awards Committee; WPPD Faculty
Outstanding Pharmaceutical Care Project Award
This award is given in recognition of an outstanding Pharmaceutical Care Project Paper by a graduating student in the WPPD program. Criteria include: Final paper organization and writing style, originality of project, adherence to deadlines, appearance of submission, and contribution to pharmaceutical care.
This award is given each semester and consists of a plaque.
Recipient determined by: PC Paper Reviewers; WPPD Pharmaceutical Care Faculty; WPPD Awards Committee
Outstanding Leadership Award
This award is given to a graduating WPPD student that has demonstrated outstanding professional leadership. Leadership activities may involve academic, institutional, professional organizations (local, state, or national), and / or the community.
This award may be given each semester and consists of a plaque.
Nominations / Recommendations: Nominations or recommendations (not to exceed one page) are encouraged from students, faculty, coworkers, and / or employers. Students may nominate themselves or other students.

Outstanding Clinician Award
This award is given in recognition of outstanding provision of pharmaceutical care by a graduating student in the WPPD program.
This award may be given each semester and consists of a plaque.
Nominations / Recommendations: Nominations or recommendations (not to exceed one page) are encouraged from students, faculty, coworkers, and / or employers. Students may nominate themselves or other students.

Elizabeth Grace Robinson Memorial Award
This award is given in recognition of a WPPD graduate, Elizabeth Grace Robinson, who was a pharmacist employed by Shands Jacksonville (formerly University Medical Center) from 3/28/82 until her unexpected passing 7/24/99. Her degree was presented to her family posthumously August 26, 1999. The award is presented in her memory with selection criteria that exemplified her attributes:
- compassion towards patients
- advocate of patient
- effective oral communication and counseling skills
- dedication to patient care
- effective presentation skills
This award may be given annually (in the Summer Semester).
