The Outstanding Young Alumni (OYA) Awards were created in 2006 by the UF Alumni Association to recognize Gators who are leaders in their profession and community. OYA recipients are under the age of 35 who are truly making a difference in our world. Each college selects a reipient on an annual basis to be presented with an award.

2015 Outstanding Young Alumni Award Recipient

Dr. Benjamin Epstein graduated from UF with his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2003, where he completed his Residency and Fellowship, before accepting a position as Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy, with a joint appointment in the College of Medicine. While at UF, he established the University of Florida Internal Medicine Pharmacotherapy Clinic. Since then, Dr. Epstein has co-founded and worked as Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of the East Coast Institute for Research (ECIR), and serves as President and Chief Scientific Officer of ECIR Medical Communications. ECIR has been recognized by the Jacksonville Business Journal as one of the fastest growing companies in Northeast Florida and was most recently recognized by UF as #22 of the Gator100 fastest growing Gator-led companies.
