Two Gainesville campus Pharm.D. students appointed to national student group
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, or ASHP, Pharmacy Student Forum has appointed fourth-year student Emilie Bergsma and third-year student Celia Curtis to the Advancement of Pharmacy Practice Advisory Group.
The group, made up of 15 student pharmacists from universities across the United States, identify and implement tools to advance pharmacy practice. It focuses on expanding pharmacist and student pharmacist roles, specifically in regard to ASHP’s Practice Advancement Initiative.
“In this group, I hope to be able to collaborate with other pharmacy students on meaningful projects that will promote the practice of pharmacy on a national level,” Bergsma said.
Curtis additionally serves as a work group lead to coordinate a committee on developing pharmacy intern advancement resources to help students in their future roles as residents and new practitioners. “I am very honored and excited to serve as a member and work group lead,” she said. “I hope to expand the intern advancement resources currently available to student chapters.
